AUGUST 5, 2023
The August ABATE of Kansas District 5 Meeting was held at noon on Saturday, August 5th at the Labor Day Rally Site in Ozawkie, KS. The meeting took place during a work weekend prior to the Labor Day Rally. Tony called the meeting to order, and it was kept fairly informal.
Reports.
Sergeant at Arms Report: Tank reported on the persons present during the meeting.
Secretary’s Report: James offered to read the minutes from the July meeting. It was decided to wave the reading of the minutes, due to the informality of the meeting. See the July meeting report in the July Newsletter for any more on the July District 5 Meeting.
Treasurer’s Report: Tony reported. All accounts are in good standing.
Membership Report: Tony reported on the District’s membership. If you know people coming to the rally, might as well get them signed up. Talk to your friends about ABATE.
Product Line Report: There are still look twice license plates available. There are also stickers, and a few clothing items. If you have any designs for clothing items, feel free to bring them up with the board, we could use the ideas.
State Report: Tony gave. Mid-South M.I.L.E. is in Springfield, MO this year, Oct. 20-22. See the State Report in the newsletter for more on the State Meeting.
New Business:
There will be an Antique Motorcycle show in Lawrence, KS on February 11th. A motion was made by Angela for District 5 to be present with a booth at the motorcycle show. The motion was seconded by Randy. All were in favor and the motion was passed. District 5 will have a booth at the show.
Old Business:
District 5 board nominations are open for Assistant District Representative
and Treasurer. Currently nominated for Assistant District Representative is Debbie Harden. Nominated for Treasurer ae Angela Thomasson and Becky Bridges. Nominations will be open for one more month.
The December State Meeting and District 5 End of Year Party will be held at the Moose
Lodge in Kansas City, KS. The band for the party is Craigzlist Killerz.
After the Labor Day Rally, stick around for clean-up. Work hours will count toward early
entry for next year’s rally. Bring donations for party in a cooler for the rally.
