OCT 4, 2025
The October District 5 Meeting was held at noon on Saturday, October 4, 2025,
at Big Dawgs in Kansas City, KS. With two of our officers not being able to be in
attendance, due to other obligations, and few in attendance, the meeting was kept informal. Some items needed to be addressed by those in attendance.
- Funds needed for insurance for the End-Of-Year Party were approved. A donation was discussed and approved for the Mid-South MILE.
- Bud brought up the idea of donating used medication (pill) bottles to the local animal shelters, with the labels and personal information removed from the bottle. When someone chooses an animal from the shelter to care for, foster or adoption, medications may need to be sent along for the animal. They sterilize them before reusing them.
- There was discussion about events District 5 could attend, with a small information booth to help with getting others to join. It was also agreed to have a booth set up at the Santa-Fe Trail Antique Motorcycle Show in February again. The point is to do more to promote ABATE and get our name out there and connected.
- Discussion on the End-Of-Year Party planning continued and will be discussed more at the November Meeting. It was decided to put some of our district products (t-shirts and license plates) in the silent auction items for door prizes as well. All were in agreement to use the same number of Party In a Wagon tickets printed, based on previous years.
- There was much talk on planning future meeting locations (Kim has connections), and a few months have been scheduled.
