2025 DEC 2 – NOV 2025 Meeting Report for ABATE of KS District 5

The November District 5 Meeting took place at noon, Saturday, November 1 st , 2025, at Big D’s on the Hill in Kansas City, KS. Tony called the meeting to order. All stood for the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by a moment of silence for lost brothers and
sisters.

Reports.

  • Sergeant at Arms Report: Becky reported in Kim’s absence (she was present by phone) on the number of those present at the meeting.
  • Membership Report: Tony reported on the District 5 membership numbers. Just a reminder to get in contact with past members who may have dropped off, those who may have forgotten to renew their membership, and those who may not know about ABATE and what it is about.
  • Product Line Report: The district still has the same products available, shirts, license plates, etc. Kim has been able to get some of the license plates out there. We are still holding off on ordering new products, for now, until some of the older products are sold. Becky made a motion to donate what products we have left after the End of Year (EOY) Party. The motion was tabled to be brought up again after the EOY Party.
  • State Report/Legislative Report: Nothing really happening right now in legislation. They are still working on things like definition of a motorcycle, right to repair and modify, trying to get all gang and club language taken out of motorcycle legislation, lane filtering and lane splitting, distracted driving and motorcycles, and tolling for motorcycles.

Tony attended the Mid-South M.I.L.E. He stated it could be the last one. It had a low turnout. He said he also attended Bridge the Gap.

New & Old Business:

  • Ballots were collected for both the state board and the
    District 5 board positions that were up for election.
  • The Party in a Wagon was discussed for the District 5 EOY Party. We are also needing donations and door prizes for the EOY Party. District 5 is hosting the December State Meeting on Saturday, December 13 th , 2025. The EOY Party will be later that same evening. Beth will be handling the food for the State Meeting.
  • The December District 5 Meeting will take place at noon on Saturday, December 6 th , 2025, at Ten & Two Coffee – 611 W. 2 nd St., Bonner Springs, KS 66012.
  • The January District 5 Meeting will be held at noon on Saturday, January 3 rd , 2026, at Coach Lite Club – 2103 S. 34 th St., Kansas City, KS 66106.
  • The February District 5 Meeting will be at noon on Saturday, February 7 th , 2026, at Hurricane Allies Bar and Grill – 5541 Merriam Dr., Shawnee, KS 66203. We will hold our annual District 5 Chili Contest in February during this meeting. Bring your best chili and put it against the others. Even if you don’t want to put chili in, come to the meeting and enjoy the chili with us. It will be a good time with friends.
  • The March District 5 meeting will be held at noon on Saturday, March 7 th , 2026, at Pizza Stop – 7541 Leavenworth Rd., Kansas City, KS 66109.
  • The April District 5 Meeting will take place at noon on Saturday, April 4 th , 2026, at Beer 30 – 9150 Lexington Ave., DeSoto, KS 66108.

Becky made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Beth seconded the motion. All were in favor and the motion carried. Meeting adjourned. See everyone in December.
