The May District 5 Meeting took place at noon at Big Dawg’s in Kansas City, Kansas on Saturday, May 10 th , 2025. Tony called the meeting to order and welcomed everyone present to the meeting. All stood for the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by a moment of silence for lost brothers and sisters.

  • Membership Report: Tony reported on the District 5 membership numbers. Membership sign-ups were made available for non-members to join up. Remember to mention renewals to those who may have forgotten to renew, or sign-ups to those who would be interested in joining.
  • Secretary’s Report: James went over the minutes from the April District 5 Meeting. The report was approved as read and printed in the April Newsletter.
  • Product Line Report: The current line of District 5 products was at the meeting and were on display. The products include t-shirts, button-up shirts, tank tops, pins, yard signs, and license plates. Some older products were also discounted. Ordering of new district products is still on hold until more of the current line is sold.
  • Treasurer’s Report: Angela went over and presented the district’s accounts. All accounts have been updated and are in good standing. The accounts were approved as reported.
  • State Report: Tony went over some of the items from the most recent state meeting. It was reported no one who is a felon can sit on the state board, nor at the district level. It was also made known that no one is to post any negative comments about another district, or district board member on social media. That type of rivalry is unnecessary, and looks bad for ABATE as a whole. It is petty and there are other ways of handling differences. If there is enough interest in having a burnout pit at the Labor Day Rally, there will need to be someone, or some entity interested enough to sponsor the event. Also, speaking of sponsors, there is need of sponsors for the Labor Day Rally. If anyone knows of any
companies, or anyone who would like to sponsor the rally, reach out to them. Depending on their sponsorship, they can get their name/banner on the stage, or on the fence line around the stage during the rally. There is a raffle for a rifle to be given away during the rally. The rifle is engraved with the 50 th anniversary rally logo. The tickets were made available during the meeting. They can be purchased by getting in touch with a board member, or on the ABATE of Kansas website.
See the newsletter with more about the State Meeting.
