
July 14, 2024
The July District 5 Meeting was held at noon on Sunday, July 14th, 2024 at Big D’s on the Hill in Kansas City, KS. Tony called the meeting to order. All present stood for the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by a moment of silence for lost brothers and sisters.
Reports.
- Sergeant at Arms Report: Tank reported on the number of those present at the meeting.
- Treasurer’s Report: Angela reported on the District 5 accounts and balances. The accounts are in good standing.
- Membership Report: Tony reported on the current numbers of the District 5 membership. As always, if you know of anyone whose membership may have expired, or haven’t seen them around in a while, give them a shout and remind them about ABATE. Talk to riders that may not know about ABATE and its cause. Product Line Report: Debbie spoke some about the product. Angela filled in about some that she inventoried as well. District 5 does have product available. Tanks, t-shirts, a few hoodies. The products are usually available at all meetings and events. They are pretty cool, check them out. There will be more discussion about products later in the meeting minutes.
- Secretary’s Report: James went over the minutes from the June meeting. Kim made a motion to accept the June meeting minutes as written and reported in the newsletter. Beth seconded the motion. All were in favor; no one opposed and the motion passed. June minutes were approved.
- State Report: Tony Reported. See the State report in the newsletter for information from the State Meeting.
Guest Speaker: District 5 had a guest speaker, Karen Crnkovich present at the meeting. She is running to represent the 3rd District of Kansas. She spoke for about 15 minutes and answered any questions from those present at the meeting. If anyone is interested, more information can be found about her at KCforKansas.com
Old Business.
- Tony has all of the plaques for the Labor Day games and bike show cut, sanded and ready to finish. There will be a date worked out to help finish the plaques.
- There has been tabled discussion about District 5 sponsoring an electric post out at the Labor Day Rally Site. The topic was brought up again. Kim made a motion for District 5 to sponsor an electric post. Jim seconded the motion. All were in favor of the motion; no one opposed. The motion passed and the district will be sponsoring an electric post out at the Labor Day Rally Site.
- The Party in a Wagon Tickets have been printed and are for sale. The wagon will be given away at the Labor Day Rally at the Conclusion of the District 5 Bike Games on Saturday.
- There will be an entry fee for the mini-bike race that will take place at the bike games. The fee will cover both of the mini-bike races.
- The tabled discussion of what type of short order for District 5 shirts to have available at the Labor Day Rally was brought back up. It was decided on button-up, collared, sleeveless shirts with a pocket on the front. Half of the shirts black and half of the shirts gray. Beth made a motion to go through with the order. Kim seconded the motion. All were in favor, no one opposed. The motion passed and the shirts will be ordered.
New Business:
Nominations are now open for three District 5 Board Positions. The positions up for nomination are District Representative, Secretary, and Sergeant at Arms. During the meeting, Tony was re-nominated for District Representative. Tony accepted the nomination. James was re-nominated for Secretary. James accepted the nomination. Tank was also re-nominated for Sergeant at Arms. Tank accepted. Feel free to join District 5 in a meeting. They are open to both members and the public. Make a nomination if you see fit.
Meetings.
- The August District 5 Meeting will be held at noon on Saturday, August 3rd, at the Rally Pad at the Labor Day Rally – Paradise Point, Ozawkie, KS. This is part of the work weekend in preparation for the Labor Day Rally.
- The September District 5 Meeting will be held around noon on Sunday, September 1st, on the game field. Labor Day Rally Site, Paradise Point, Ozawkie, KS. This will be while the judges are looking over the motorcycles during the bike show.
- The October District 5 Meeting will be held at noon, October 5th at the Moose Lodge – 6621 Turner Dr, Kansas City, KS 66111. Beth made a motion to Adjourn. Kim second. All were in favor the motion passed.
A motion was made to adjourn by Kim. The motion was seconded by Angie. All in favor, no opposed. Meeting was adjourned. Look forward to seeing everyone next month.

The August District 5 meeting was held at noon on Saturday, August 3rd, 2024 at the vendor pad of the Labor Day Rally Site, Paradise Point in Ozawkie, KS. Due to the location and the fact that it was a work weekend, the meeting was kept short and fairly informal.
Reports.
- Membership Report: Tony reported on the District 5 membership numbers.
- Secretary’s Report: It was decided, due to the informality of the meeting to wave the reading of the July meeting minutes.
- Product Line Report: There are District 5 products available for both men and women. There will be a short run of products printed that will be available to be sold at the Labor Day Rally. Beth verified the text that was agreed upon. The shirts will be tank tops for women, and a button up sleeveless for men.
Old/New Business.
- There was some discussion about some signage for the District 5 events and party in a wagon during the Labor Day Rally.
- Nominations are still open for three District 5 board positions. District Representative, Secretary and Sergeant at Arms. Tony Rawls-Riley has been nominated for Representative. James Thomasson has been nominated for Secretary. Tank has been nominated for Sergeant at Arms. All three currently hold those positions and have accepted their nominations.

Sept 1, 2024
The September District 5 meeting took place at around noon on Sunday, September 1 st , 2024. The location was the Labor Day Rally game-field, Perry Lake in Ozawkie, KS. Tony called the meeting to order and stated it would be very informal, due to the meeting taking place
during the Labor Day Rally, as well as the District 5 Bike Show.
New/Old Business.
- The District 5 End of Year Party will take place at the Moose Lodge in Kansas City, Kansas. The band for the End of Year Party is set to be the Dead City Rockers.
- The old District 5 white canopy with all of the metal pipes and metal pipe tripods that was a big pain to set up was replaced by the new white canopy with the back on it. It was decided to get rid of the old white canopy and pipes, as they were not really needed and were just taking up space in the trailer and barrels.
- A sign will be made for the Party in a Wagon for future events. It was also decided to get different money boxes or money bags with zippers for the different things the district is collecting for during district events.
- The three District 5 Board Positions currently up for re-election are: District Representative (currently nominated 1: Tony Rawls-Riley), Sergeant at Arms (currently nominated 1: Tank), and Secretary (currently nominated 1: James Thomasson).
Meetings.
Next meeting is October 5 th Moose Lodge 1999 KC,KS. That concluded the meeting, Now on to the District 5 Bike Games and Bike Show.
