JULY 13, 2025
The July District 5 Meeting was absent for the meeting due took place at noon on Sunday, July 13th at Grinder’s Stonewall in Lenexa, KS. Tony called the meeting to order. The meeting was kept informal.
Reports.
Secretary Report: It was decided to skip the reading of the Secretary’s Report. The report was accepted as written and printed int the newsletter.
Treasurer Report.
Treasurer’s Report: Angela was absent for the meeting due to work obligations. James read over Angela’s report in her absence and presented the numbers. The accounts are in good standing.
State Report: Tony went over the items from July State Meeting in Garden City, KS on the 12th. Please see the State Report in the newsletter for more information on the State Meeting.
New/Old Business:
- Nominations will be open next month (August) for the District 5 positions of Assistant District Representative and Treasurer.
- District 5 work weekends are coming up the first Saturday in August in preparation for the Labor Day Rally. Overall, work weekends have already begun.
- Tony stated there are just a few minor supplies needing to be bought for the bike games for the rally. The sound system should be ready to go for the bike games as well. Someone from out at the Back to Our Roots Rally offered some of his sound system to add to ours to make it better.
- The December State Meeting/District 5 End of Year Party was brought up. The State Meeting is on December 13th, and District 5 will host the Meeting. It was decided that we will do the same food as last year, as everyone seems to like the pulled pork.
The September District 5 Meeting will take place prior to the District 5 Bike Show on Sunday, August 31st, 2025, at the Labor Day Rally Game Field, Paradise Point – Perry Lake (Ozawkie), KS.
The October District 5 Meeting will be held at noon on Saturday, October 4th, 2025, at Big Dawgs – 6720 Kaw Dr., Kansas City, KS 66111. Meeting will be on the out back patio.
The November District 5 Meeting will be at noon on Saturday, November 1st, 2025, at Big D’s on the Hill – 3139 S. 34th St., Kansas City, KS 66106.
The meeting was adjourned.
AUG 9, 2025
The August District 5 Meeting was held at noon on Saturday, August 9th, 2025 at the site of the Labor Day Rally Site, (Paradise Point) Perry Lake – Ozawkie, KS. The Meeting was part of District 5’s work weekend in preparation for the Labor Day Rally. Tony called the meeting to order. All stood for the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by a moment of silence for lost brothers and sisters, as well as those serving overseas.
Reports.
Sergeant at Arms Report/
Membership Report: Tony reported on the number of those that were present at the meeting and thanked everyone for attending. Tony also reported on the District 5 membership numbers.
Secretary’s Report: A motion was made by Dozzle to wave the reading of the minutes from the July meeting. Beth seconded the motion. All were in favor, none opposed and the motion carried.
State Report: Tony attended the State Meeting in Garden City, KS, and reported on the items from the State Meeting. The Back to The Roots Rally will be coming back again next year. There was talk about Arkansas’ Inherent Risk Law. The Mid Sout MILE is scheduled for Oklahoma City on October 25th. Meeting of the Minds is in Shreveport, Louisiana in September 25th-28th. New/Old Business:
- Nominations are open for the District 5 Board Positions for Assistant District Representative (currently held by Debbie Harden) and Treasurer (currently held by Angela Thomasson).
- Tony picked up some stuff for the Labor Day Rally. Some of the items were audio system equipment loaned to us to be able to use to improve sound quality on the game field.
- Tonya acquired the wagon for the Party in a Wagon to be given away during the games.
- Mini-bike practice will take place at 6:30 on Friday this year.
- District 5 will host the December State Meeting on Saturday December 13th, 2025. It was decided the food preparation will be two roasts, potato salad and rolls. The meeting will be followed, later in the evening, by District 5’s End of Year Party. A band has already been secured.
August 31, 2025. It will take place on the game field at the Labor Day Rally Site, (Paradise Point) Perry Lake – Ozawkie, KS.
