The April District 5 Meeting took place at noon on Saturday, April 4th, 2026, at Beer 30 in De Soto, Kansas. Tony called the meeting to order. All stood for the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by a moment of silence for lost brothers and sisters.

Reports.

Sergeant at Arms Report: Kim reported on the number of all those present at the meeting and
thanked everyone for coming. She then introduced everyone present to Mary Beth, the waitstaff and bartender who would be taking care of everyone’s food and beverage needs during the meeting.

Secretary’s Report: James read over the minutes from the March meeting, making sure to highlight everything which needed to be covered in the April meeting. Jim made a motion to accept reading of secretary’s report as read and printed in the newsletter. Bobbi second the motion. All were in favor and the motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report: Ang stated the district’s accounts have been updated and in order. She
presented the books and made herself available for questions. Bobbi made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s report as presented. Jim second the motion. All were in favor, no opposition and the motion carried.

State Report: Tony attended the March State Meeting in Dodge City. He stated there wasn’t much legislative-wise, as most legislative business is done for the time being. Back to Our Roots Rally grounds are pretty much ready to go. That being said, the work weekends leading up to it are also pretty much over. There may be another mowing go over, but as far as work weekends go, there will be plenty coming up for the Labor Day Rally. For more from the state meeting, see the State Meeting Report in the newsletter. The April State Meeting is in Emporia, KS. There will be a bike show at the Lyon County Fairground after the meeting.

Old/New Business.

District 5 was able secure the Moose Lodge in Kansas City, KS for when we
will host the December State meeting at noon, and our Annual End of Year (EOY) Party later that
evening. The band “Side Effects” has also been selected to play at this year’s EOY Party.

District 5 will bring back the “Party in a Wagon” again this year, during the District 5 Bike Games at the Labor Day Rally. We are looking for donations for the Party in a Wagon, if anyone would like to donate a wagon, or items for in the wagon, just let any of us know.

Discussion began about District 5 Bike Games, and more specifically the upcoming games
at the Back to Our Roots Rally coming up. The games there must be scaled down a little due to limited space. Bud and Bobbi have been working on some new games to try and brought one in to demonstrate that they thought would be successful. The game they showed us, they
called it Clackers. The games for the Back to Our Roots Rally will include Kickstart Contest (Asian, European, American Classification), Slow Race, Weenie Bite (2-wheelers), 2-Man Shuffle,
5-Man Ball Clacker.

There was then conversation about product. Bobbi agreed to become District Product Manager. On April 25th and 26th, at Rusty Metal Car Swap Meet, the district product will be displayed. Bud will be using his swap meet clothing rack. Bobbi will put up one of each item of clothing to get it sold. This should be happening at as many events as possible to get as much of the older product sold. Bobbi made a motion to decide on a male and female fit t-shirt design and tank top only. Betsy second the motion. All were in favor, no opposition and the motion passed. It was time to decide as to what design to put on the front of the shirt. It came down to two different designs to vote on. The first choice was an eagle riding a motorcycle. The second choice was the District 5 breaking a chain. The District 5 breaking the chain won the vote by 5-6 and will be the design for the next shirt.

Bud mentioned Lakeside Speedway is opening this month for flat track races, until August. He wants to see if he can talk to the promoter about setting up a district booth out there.
