NOVEMBER 1, 2026
The November District 5 Meeting was held at noon on Sunday, November 1st, 2026, at Dad’s Hole in the Wall in Kansas City, KS. Tony called the meeting to order. All stood for The Pledge of Allegiance, followed by a moment of silence for lost brothers and sisters.
Reports.
Sergeant at Arms Report: In absence of a Sergeant at Arms, Tony thanked everyone for coming and reported on the number of those present at the meeting.
Secretary’s Report: It was decided to skip the reading of the October meeting minutes and accept them as printed in the newsletter. James did go over a couple items that needed to be brought back up that were to be carried over from the October Meeting.
State/Legislative Report:
- February 4th will be Lobby Day in Topeka. “Bikers Under the Dome.” Tony will be attending this event.
- Some of the things being monitored are autonomous vehicles. In other words, self-driving vehicles; and making sure they can see motorcycles as well as other vehicles on the roadways.
- The definition of a motorcycle. Some vehicles have three wheels, two seats, seatbelts, a steering wheel, don’t require a motorcycle license to operate, but have a motorcycle license plate.
- Emission regulations vs. manufacturer warranties
- Electric bikes and kids/teenagers. These kids/teenagers are potentially future bikers. We all should probably be looking at the situation that way and educate.
- ABATE of Kansas is asking if members are able and aren’t already, to begin getting electronic copies of the monthly newsletter. It would be a huge cost saving measure for the organization.

New/Old Business.
December State Meeting and District 5 End of Year Party – Beth agreed to handle the food for the State Meeting. She will also be acquiring the wagon for the party in a wagon. 455 Rocket will be the band for the End of Year Party, later in the evening after the meeting.
Meetings.
- The December District 5 Meeting will take place at noon on Sunday, December 6th, 2026, at Coach Lite Club – 2103 S. 34th st., Kansas City, KS 66106.
- The January District 5 Meeting is TBD.
- The February District 5 Meeting will be at noon on Sunday, February 7th, 2026, at the Coach Lite Club – 2103 S. 24th st., Kansas City, KS 66106. The February Meeting will also consist of the District 5 Annual Chili Cook-off Contest. So Bring in your best chili to enter. If you don’t want to compete, then just come in and have a bowl or three or five of all the other entries and place a vote. We hope to see everyone there at the meeting.
